Yes friends and pilgrims, Father Duffy smokes a pipe. But let's not make a big thing of it. As Father Duffy states often through the Journals... "even the Simplex sin." But he was discreet about his smoking. No matter what parish rectory he resided in, he was always able to find a place to smoke that would not disturb residents or visitors. His pipe tobacco was something called "Cherry Blend", which had a very sweet fragrance I am told.
